The Brief

To design a navigation app focused on accessibility and user experience for individuals with hidden disabilities. The goal was to address the specific challenges of urban navigation, such as sensory overload and physical barriers, through a thoughtful digital-first approach.

My Approach

My research focused on how sensory overload impacts the user experience for those with hidden disabilities. By prioritising calming visual cues and clean interface patterns, I designed a navigation tool that feels supportive rather than just functional. The ‘Meet & Assist’ focus ensures the app acts as a bridge to physically accessible spaces, creating a more inclusive travel experience.

Sensra bridges these gaps by delivering personalised, real-time navigation that considers both physical and sensory accessibility. ‘Meet & Assist’ enables users to arrange support at participating venues or stations, connecting them with staff trained to assist with specific accessibility needs through live chat or scheduled help. Indoor navigation with detailed point-of-interest markers and intersection insights supports large venues such as campuses, medical centres, and shopping malls, building independence where traditional systems often fall short.
