The Brief

To design a navigation app focused on accessibility and user experience for individuals with hidden disabilities. The goal was to address the specific challenges of urban navigation, such as sensory overload and physical barriers, through a thoughtful digital-first approach.

My Approach

My research looked at how sensory overload affects people with hidden disabilities when they try to move through cities. I prioritised calming visual cues and clean interface patterns so the app stayed usable under stress, not only when everything is already straightforward. ‘Meet & Assist’ is built around getting people into physically accessible spaces with the right support in place.

Sensra gives personalised, real-time navigation that accounts for both physical and sensory accessibility. ‘Meet & Assist’ lets users arrange help at participating venues or stations, through live chat or scheduled support with staff trained for specific accessibility needs. Indoor navigation with point-of-interest markers and intersection insights covers large venues such as campuses, medical centres, and shopping malls, where standard navigation apps often stop being useful.
